Good Stuff for a Rainy Monday!

Hey candies!

I had to take a break and really take a look at some of these other bloggers and what exactly they are trying to do. I've not only learned that blogging is not an easy task, but it also comes with great responsibility...therefore, I am trying to figure out the laws of the land, and where I can exactly fit in this picture...

OK, so now that I am done with my Oprah moment...

1. What is the mess that is Swizz Beats? Whoa, who is his publicist? Hmmm...I don't think this is a very cool look for you my dude:

2. I Love New York Reunion: Sorry folks, I haven't caught it all yet but I do hear that old girl got dumped by Mr. TMNT himself (that reference suits him wonderfully...):

(courtesy of the Flavor of Love Blog)

After viewing how nasty New York was when talking 'bout his momma he told her he couldn't marry her, so I hear...uh...come on now were you thinking you were going to marry her though dude? Wow...the crack epidemic lives rampant in Tampa, huh?

3.Lil' Romeo Goes To School: Well, Master P gets a pat on the back from me. Seems like his son just signed up to play Basketball over at USC this fall...let us pray he gets Mr. Romeo a box of condoms, or that he at least puts the patent on some type of contraption that can attach itself and never come off for at least 4 years...or something like that.

And yes, I am well aware that Mediatakeout.com is not the best authority on these things, but there be some truth on there...sometimes...well...I think it's just fun to figure out what's true and what isn't, but that's too much of an endorsement until we become friends.

4. Gary Dourdan's (The Black Guy on CSI) Publicist is Fired: TMZ.com has your boy on tape being denied entry into new "white Hollywood hot spot" (yes, that is what it was referred to as on tmz.com) Parc (put this link in a new broswer):

Oh, you don't know who he is? Shame on you! Apparently, neither did the door people...but I've dealt with this at a few nightclubs in NYC...they aren't always happy to see the brown faced people...those A-D lists do exist, and most brown folks are pretty much D on those lists...sorry to break it to ya...unless you have $3k-$5k/month to give to some publicist who has the inside track, is in bed with the owners (literally) or is just...enough to do the job...you fill in the blank.

5. Russell Simmons says "Do You!": Most bloggers seem to be fixated on Russell's next Kimora, but it seems he's coming out with a book, due on shelves April 24:

(from Penguin Group (USA)'s website)

From Penguin Group (USA)'s website: "The business and cultural icon finally shares his experiences in and beliefs on success in Do You! 12 Laws to Access the Power in You to Achieve Happiness and Success. Simmons has been instrumental in bringing hip-hop to every facet of business and media since it’s inception in the late 1970’s, as well as being heavily involved with several philanthropic organizations including Hip-Hop Summit Action Network, the Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation, and the Diamond Empowerment fund. But no matter what the venture, Russell is always driven by the belief that hip-hop and the arts are enormously influential agents for social change."

Cool...I liked his Life After Def book, so I'll be looking out for that...wonder why I haven't heard too much about it though...

6. These Execs Need Assistants that Know What Spellcheck Is and It Wonders: OK, so on Sandra Rose's temporary site, she posted a letter from Jermaine Dupri, stating his response to this whole Imus mess, and it goes like so:

THANK U FOR RESPONDING TO MY BLOG SOME OF YOU SEE IT MY WAY OTHERS DONT FOR ALL OF YOU THAT ARE ?ING RAP VIDEOS AND OUR MUSIC THIS IS WHAT I SAY

WE MAKE CLEAN VERSION OF OUR MUSIC SO THAT WE CAN GET ON THE RADIO WE PLAY BY THE RULES WHAT THAT MAN DID WAS JUS TRY TO GET AWAY WITH SOMTHIN AND SAY FUCK THE RULES THIS IS MY SHOW I CAN DO WHAT I WANT

AND NOW HES TRYIN TO PULL RAP MUSIC DOWN WITH HIM AND YALL ALL KNOW THATS BULLSHIT

NO DRAMA IS ONE THAT THINKS WHAT WE ARE DOIN IS BAD AND I SAY TO YOU WHAT DO THINK THE WHOLE WORLD IS SPOSE TO BE ALIKE ?
I MEAN WHAT THIS PERSON DECIDES TO DO IS NOT WHAT YOUR GONNA DO AND YOU OR I CAN CONTROL THAT

IF A GIRL WANTS TO DO PORN OR BE IN PLAYBOY ITS HER DECISSION ONCE OUR KIDS GET OF AGE ITS THERE CHOICE TO DO WHAT THEY WANNA DO

PORN IS A BILLION DOLLAR BUISNESS THAT NOBODY ATTACKS CAUSE YALL THAT KEEP TALKIN ABOUT US RAPPERS STILL GO BEHIND DOORS AND BUY THESE MOVIES USE DILDOS AND ALL THAT
BUT USE US AS A SCAPE GOAT

THIS HAS NOTHIN TO DO WITH RAP MUSIC THIS HAS TO DO WITH SOMBODY BREAKIN THE RULES FLAT OUT!!!!!!!

-End of Madness-

Although it's clear that grammar and spell check do not exist on Blackberry's he does have a point...this could very well a way to attack rap music, but seriously...are clean edits enough? And I don't understand, does JD have a blog or something? If so, does it have spell check?

Half of these songs don't even have words once edited so um...what are you trying to say here JD? Your publicist is also fired.

And Snoop Dogg's response?: "It's a completely different scenario... "[Rappers] are not talking about no collegiate basketball girls who have made it to the next level in education and sports. We're talking about ho's that's in the 'hood that ain't doing sh--, that's trying to get a n---a for his money. These are two separate things. First of all, we ain't no old-ass white men that sit up on MSNBC [the cable network home to Imus] going hard on black girls. We are rappers that have these songs coming from our minds and our souls that are relevant to what we feel. I will not let them mutha-----as say we in the same league as him." (courtesy of Sandra Rose via MTV News).

Well jee, thanks Snoop! Your publicist is also fired.

Thanks for reading, more to come...stay tuned!
